I made my first MRR sale in August of 2023.

In my first 8 weeks selling digital MRR courses, I made $10,000.

Up until that point, my husband was running DoorDash over 50 hours per week just to barely survive.

And yet within just 4 months of making that first sale, our income from MRR sales surpassed $60,000.

Up to this point in my life, I'd never sold a digital product.

That kind of income shift is life changing.

Our 2nd month we decided to celebrate with a spontaneous vacation getaway to the Ozarks to catch some fall foliage and make some fun family memories.

On less than 2 weeks notice, we rented a van, booked a cabin somewhere in the forests of Arkansas (so remote we didn't have a cell signal most of the time), hiked the trails and soaked in the hot tub. Nest we drove North to Branson, MO, took in some shows like Dolly Parton's Stampede, rode the Copperhead Mountain Coaster, and ate to our hearts content.

Something like this was absolutely unimaginable just a few weeks before.

But before we jump in, I need to be honest with you.

(someone needs to be, and it might as well be me!)

There are a bunch of dishonest MRR myths flying around out here, and frankly, it's starting to piss me off! 🤬

Myth #1. "MRR is a done-for-you business."

I mean, I guess you could call it a “business in a box”... but like... Ikea style.

All the pieces are there.

All the necessary tools.

Even the damn instructions.

But if YOU aren’t willing to take the time, read the instructions, and use the proper tools to do the work of assembly, you will just have a box full of pieces.

What the internet did was sell thousands of people on the idea that, because these courses had Master Resell Rights attached, it would be "easy".

And I mean, I get why people thought that.

I made $5,000 in my first 31 days as a stay at home, homeschooling mom.

Yes.

BUT…

Here’s what it took:

- money we definitely did not have (Glad we kept a credit card in the chest unused so we could start this business)

- time I didn’t think I had while I was solo parenting and my hubby doordashed 50+ hours a week just to pay the electricity.

- energy I didn’t have left over at the end of the day but somehow had to muster up anyways

- staying up til 2 am building my systems, going through training, and creating content.

It took (and still takes while you're building momentum) a LOT of work and strategy and effort and desire and vision…..

Myth #2: "Digital Marketing and MRR is passive income."

Um... how about NO.

Here's my definition of passive income:

Income from an asset that does not require ongoing effort to maintain.

I saw someone describe income from digital marketing activities as "almost passive" income.

Ok, that's honest, I'll take it!

Building a digital business IS highly leveraged. For every hour of effort you put in you can make back 2x, 10x, or 100x return compared to a 9-5 job.

But...

You will have to learn skills around technologies and strategies you’ve never even thought of before.

You will have to be intentional to schedule TIME and RESOURCES to give to your business.

You will have to put in consistent and persistent effort to get there.

Sorry, hon... Ain’t nothin’ "passive" about that.

Myth #3: "Reselling a course is the best “first step” to making money online."

Ok, this one is only a half-myth.

Because, for many of you reading this (if you're like me), reselling a course that's done-for-you, high quality, and that has proven market demand... actually IS the best first step for you!

But half-truths can still bite you in the ass.

So here's some truth-telling you probably won't read anywhere else:

…IF you do NOT want to teach people digital marketing or how to make money online, then the MRR license won't be of much use to you.

See… I PERSONALLY wanted to teach people digital marketing and business principles.

So creating a brand around the "make money online" niche and reselling courses and products that helped people in those areas was a no-brainer for me.

But what if you want to learn digital marketing skills so you can…

+ Help people learn how to make their own Sourdough starter from scratch

+ Provide homeschooling resources to homeschool parents

+ Teach people how to crochet a blanket for their baby/grandbaby

+ Teach people how to travel with a family for nearly free by collecting points on a credit card all without accumulating debt

+ Etc., etc., etc... (there are a million other niches out there.)

In other words, you don't want to "buy a course to sell a course"!

Then don't let the MRR reselling option distract you.

Focus instead on the digital marketing skills The Roadmap will teach you.

Skills that you need to learn no matter what business you start in 2024 and beyond.

Like how to develop your brand, choose your niche, and how to grow your audience on social media (Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Youtube... it's all in here).

Like how to build landing pages and sales funnels (for free!), email marketing and automations that are the key to "making money while you sleep".

I've always been someone who's just crazy enough to believe that there's got to be MORE to life than the 8-5 "rat race" of school and work.

But the last decade wasn't exactly a fairy tale. It was filled with...

soul-sucking dead end jobs...

too much month and not enough money...

credit cards, student debt, stressful "bill juggling"...

We got fed up with the "rat race" 7 years ago, so we decided to take the entrepreneurial leap.

And when we left corporate America to build that first business, Money wasn’t the goal!

FREEDOM was.

It's always been our real goal.

-Freedom to use our time the way we see fit.

-Freedom to buy the food that we believe will serve our family best.

-Freedom to get the healthcare that WE choose (not what our insurance company is willing to pay for.)

-Freedom from the stress of unexpected expenses.

...but we soon learned from our local business how easy it is to build your own set of "golden handcuffs".

We were living that “entrepreneur” life, but in reality, it often felt like we were just employees of our own company, and our "bosses" were our clients.

Yes...

We were in charge.

Our schedule during the week was flexible.

We could take pride in building a successful business.

But our weekends were filled up with events...

...and we were selling away our time day by day, event by event, as far into the future as we could see.

“Freedom my a**”.

That's when we realized that *location freedom* not just time freedom was going to be a non-negotiable for our next business. 🏝️

Thankfully, after working our butts off to push that business through a VERY hard wedding season in 2020, where we almost went under. And in 2022 we were able to sell for a 6-figure sum.

But, we still didn't know exactly what to build next.

Our last 7 years of entrepreneurship had at least taught us all about all the business models that did NOT check all those "freedom" boxes for us.

In that time we'd researched and/or tried our hand at:

-Local Service-based businesses

-Network marketing

-Digital marketing as a service for small businesses

-UGC (user generated content…where you create videos of products for brands and get paid for it)

-Affiliate Marketing (Legendary anyone?)

I researched, and scrolled, and watched for an entire year, as a homeschool mom I followed made a million dollars with digital products (while I sat there scrolling).

And by August 2023, just 6 months ago...

... we'd burned through the last of the money we got from the sale of our photobooth business.

I personally felt like I was reaching the breaking point:

* We were down to just $17 in the bank

* Late on our mortgage for the 3rd month in a row.

* Maybe worst of all, we were forced to visit a food bank for the first time in our lives JUST to give our children something to eat.

We went from on top of the world after the sale, to dazed and desperate within one short year.

I don't know if that time was truly rock bottom, but it sure as hell felt that way.

But I'm a fighter, and something in me KNEW that the dream we have held close to our hearts was still possible.

That's when I DECIDED to just freaking START doing something!

I looked at my husband and said, “ I HAVE to create digital products… I KNOW this is the answer!”

Two days later, as if by kismet, I came across someone I knew on Instagram talking about Master Resell Rights.

This acquaintance of mine was sharing all about this digital marketing course that she purchased for her daughter (who she homeschools) because she was interested in learning about Digital Marketing.

[Hang in there…this is where things really blew up…]

“This is a DONE FOR YOU Digital Product… Ready to go!”

As soon as I heard her say “this is a done for you digital product” I was sold!

This course came with a license that was attached to it called “Master Resell Rights” which allows the purchaser to resell that product as their own and keep 100% of the sale if someone buys from them.

I wanted to get a sneak peak of the modules and the people who created the course because… If I am going to sell something, I need to know that the product is Koala-tea (quality)... ya feel?

After going full ADHD hyperfocus mode and boring a tunnel through the internet, I felt confident that this course was something I could be proud to sell to start my digital product brand, Stupid Simple Co.

I purchased the next day, and got to work immediately.

From Aug 7- Sept 8 I had made $5,000 just reselling the course.

The next month I did close to the same... $5,000.

But October really threw us for a loop… $26,000

November….. $24,000

I had built a community of over 100 people who were interested in building their own digital marketing business.

I had grown an email subscriber list of over 4,000 people.

I had a fully-online BUSINESS! Like a real...true-blue... digtal business... in only a few months.

It took me a year to sit and watch and do NOTHING. And only a few months to radically change our lives with super messy and imperfect action.

Do you see what I am trying to say?

You say "it'll take too long, so why try?", but then the years pass by and nothing👏 ever 👏changes👏.

It only took me 5 months to make a year's salary in our previous business.

So what actually changed? The opportunities were always there. I was watching them unfold in front of my eyes for everyone else but me.

I'm about to tell you the number one thing anyone MUST do before they'll succeed.

(I tried skipping over this part for a year and it didn't work out well...)

Maybe you even picked up on it in the story.

That's it! That's the magic.

Everything you want is on the other side of a commited decision.

You just HAVE to DECIDE.

Don't say you're going to "try".

That's half-hearted.

"Decide" means to "cut off" other options. It has to be backed by a strong "I WILL."

Now, maybe you don't believe that you will make 7-figures a year right now...

That's ok! What level of outcome can you believe?

Let's say you're really unsure right now, and you can only believe that you will only have what it takes to study the modules in The Roadmap, and implement the exercises as you go. Great!

Just be honest with your goal, and committed to your decision.

Paying $497 for waht is, in my opinion, the best beginner's digital marketing course on the market right now...

...and "only" acquiring these skills (that every business needs in 2024) is a fantastic outcome all by itself.

"I don't care if I ever resell the courses because the value I got from watching the content and all the inspiration they've given me are worth what I spent on them multiplied by 1000."

So is $497 for The Roadmap a fair value?

Let me give you a comparison...

My husband took on $52,000 of debt to earn his college degree (which also came with no guarantees by the way!) and he's still paying nearly $500 every single month for that education, yearrrrrrrs after graduation. (and much of what he learned was outdated in regards to digital marketing tbh).

Yeah, I'd say it's an amazing value!
