The ONE Mistake That Had Me Crying on the Couch until 3am

& what I learned from it

❌ How I bought the wrong course

❌ And ended up paying $497 TWICE

✅ But then bounced back and went on to make over $10,000 in the next 8 weeks

Here's my story.

I'm someone who's just crazy enough to believe that there's MORE to life than the 8-5 "rat race" of school and work.

My parents said I've always been that way.

When I met my husband 10 years ago I knew I'd found a kindred soul. Someone who didn't want to settle for a status quo life.

But the last decade wasn't exactly a fairy tale. It was filled with...

soul-sucking dead end jobs...

too much month and not enough money...

credit cards, student debt, stressful "bill juggling"...

Last year I felt like I was reaching the breaking point.

So I started searching for a way to make more money without trading more of our time...

...and without being stuck in a particular place, with obligations to things we didn't really care about.

I fell down the rabbit hole on Instagram and TikTok of how to make money online and was following a few people who were talking about digital products.

I felt a growing conviction that selling digital products was the perfect business model for me.

Then this past summer a friend shared about this new Master Resell Rights (MRR) opportunity on her Instagram stories.

It immediately clicked for me, and I just knew that this was the opportunity I'd been waiting for!

I was seriously so amped about it!

But I like to be wise with my decisions.

So I began stalking some other MRR influencers on IG and I did some more research on Google.

That's when I came across an interview with Zack Pippins where he shared why he and his wife Hannah built the The Roadmap course, and why they set it up as an MRR opportunity that people could resell for 100% profit.

They even shared a glimpse of what the course and community looked like.

These were my people.

I loved the style and "vibe" of the course, and the community had thousands of like minded people.

SOLD.

Now, I should probably say at this point...

We did NOT have the cash to buy this course. We were late on our mortgage....again. AND I was about to be out of town with family on a pre-planned trip I could no longer afford.

Yeah... it was super stressful!

But my husband and I decided to take a risk anyway and put it on a credit card.

I was determined to make this work. and I decided that I would do whatever it took to make that money back, plus some!

Since I wanted to support my friend, I decided to buy using the MRR link in her bio.

Card details entered.

Checked the box to accept the terms.

BUY NOW: $497?

Yes!

Little did I realize what a mistake I'd just made. 😬 I got the confirmation email and I could hardly click the access link fast enough...

*click again*

The key to my future was loading on the screen in front of me...

My excitement was palpable!

But then it happened...

The site that loaded wasn't The Roadmap at all!

What did I just buy?

What.

(TF)

Just.

Happened?!

😱

(you know that feeling when your insides drop out even though you're still sitting down?)

I was in shock.

This confused the heck out of me because all I heard anyone talk about was "MRR course" this, and "MRR course" that...

...and all the references led back Hannah and Zach Pippins as the creators of the MRR course.

I clicked around numbly on a few of the videos.

Ok, so there were a few videos here that looked like they were from The Roadmap. But they were mixed in with a lot of other videos by someone I didn't recognize.

It turns out with my purchase I'd gotten access to a different course + community that, while based on the Roadmap material...

...was actually its own separate thing.

And this is the big MRR secret that people aren't talking enough about...

The thing about Master Resell Rights is… you can repackage the product if you want to….

And that's what this person decided to do.

They took The Roadmap videos, and created a separate community, with its own branding and extra "non-roadmap" materials added in.

You see, MRR is just a licensing term. It means "Master Resell Rights" and is a term that can apply to any product that uses that type of license.

So when someone says "MRR course" they could literally be referring to a hundred different products.

Don't get me wrong... It's not like the content in this other course was "bad" or not valuable....

But the aesthetic of this course I found myself in was absolutely NOT something I could allow myself to send my customers to.

I wanted to sell people a well-branded, ready-made product that could seamlessly blend in with THEIR OWN brand as well to make it Stupid Simple for them to get started.

Here's what sucked the most for me...

I was planning to hit the ground running with a Done for You course and community...

...so I could simply focus all my energy on building my IG account and marketing the course.

I spent an hour or so trying to rationalize a way around this.

I was still in shock when my husband walked into the living room.

"How's it going babe?"

I successfully held back the tears for 3 seconds... then it broke! 😭

It was the culmination of years of disappointment, taking risks, getting hopes up only to be let down (or even scammed), hoping for better days and being met with obstacle after obstacle.

I had taken a chance, let myself get excited, and then it all went wrong...AGAIN!

Have you every felt like that? Like it just seems easier for everyone else?

After my husband comforted me with "woah babe... that's a little intense dontcha think?!" 🙄

...and after I threw a pillow at him and said "DON'T SAY THAT TO ME!!!!" (it was very dramatic)

... He looked at me and reminded me WHY I wanted to do this and that I could do this, and that whatever I felt I needed to do, he would support me.

I was faced with 2 decisions:

1. Take time I didn't have to rebuild and rebrand the course to my liking (which I didn't want to have to do... that's why I liked The Roadmap)

OR

2. Pay $497 on my credit card AGAIN to get The Roadmap and just start building and selling!

I chose door number 2!

I slapped another $497 on my credit card, put my head down, and reminded myself that 2 sales to break even on a business wasn't really THAT bad!

Here's Why I Was Sold On The MRR Model: -I found something I felt good about selling. -The whole course was already built and packed full of valuable information -I could learn how to set up my online business systems, learn effective digital marketing skills,

-AND have my first product to sell right away.

Over the next 8 weeks, I immersed myself in the course, absorbing every piece of knowledge, implementing strategies, and taking decisive actions. The community was vibrant, supportive, and the course was exactly as I had hoped it would be – a clear, straightforward guide to making the most out of MRR opportunities.

And the results spoke for themselves. I made $10,000 in those 8 weeks.

And now, I’m here to share all of this with you so you don't have to go through what I went through.

This opportunity is truly life-changing and I want to make sure as many people as possible get started on the right foot...

...with clarity and excitement!

Here are the THREE things I wish I would have asked before clicking purchase now :

1. What is the name of the course? (Remember.... it ain't "MRR"... that's just the license.)

2. What does it look like on the inside? (If you do not want to rebuild and rebrand before you start selling, this is very important to know.)

3. Who created it? (do they have credibility and do you have shared values.)

I'm going to answer those questions (and more) on the next page and give you a behind-the-scenes video of The Roadmap.

XO,

Shelbye
